Director of Sales, Marketing & Development - Long Term CarePosition Location: Montgomery Place Retirement Community, the premiere senior living community overlooking Lake Michigan and the Museum of Science and Industry. Montgomery Place offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, and a 40-bed Skilled Nursing Unit providing long-term care and sub-acute rehab services.OverviewOversees the Sales, Marketing and Development efforts for Montgomery Place and Life Care At Home; manages the sales team and interfaces with external support consultants used for media, advertising, and public relations; responsible for organizational fundraising, including relationship development, gift solicitation and donor relations and retention; secures financial support to meet Care Assurance Fund goals and objectives.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSales ResponsibilitiesDirect all aspects of a consultative and relationship-driven sales approachLead and supervise department staff to set measurable sales and relationship-building goalsEmploy proven and imaginative approaches to build lists of prospectsAssess individual approaches of sales staffTrain to refresh and improve staff’s sales skillsConduct quarterly and annual evaluationsMeasure results and adjust plans to reflect consumer responsesEnsure the sales process for each qualified prospect progresses during a cycle determined by client needs and preferences; assist with closing sales as neededPrepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports measuring results against forecasts, noting opportunities for improvement and new approachesMonitor and balance an operating budget on a monthly basis to achieve sales goalsReach out to current residents and their families to learn what is most appealing about their experiences and to address areas needing improvementMarketing ResponsibilitiesDevise and implement a strategic plan to develop a continuous sales funnel of qualified prospectsDevelop and oversee the articulation and presentation of brands for Montgomery Place and Life Care At HomeManage digital marketing programs and external consultant relationshipsDirect, plan and evaluate advertising, marketing and public relations programsIdentify and oversee the need for market research; monitor competitors and trends in lifestyle choices for seniorsRepresent Montgomery Place at association and industry meetings; network with local community leaders and significant referral sourcesProduce events, electronic and print marketing materials; analyze and evaluate outcomes of eachDevelopment ResponsibilitiesIdentify potential donors from a variety of sources including present and past residents, family members, board members and other interested private and public partiesIdentify, apply for, and secure grant funding for programs and servicesEstablish strong and lasting relationships with donors of all typesArticulate legal and practical aspects of donation agreements to ensure understanding and acceptance of terms and conditions of financial supportRespond to inquiries related to fundraising and guide donors to appropriate resourcesDocument and maintain accurate donor contact information, gift history and receipt communications in appropriate systemsProduce and deliver receipt of gift documentation within 24 business hours of receiptDevelop, plan and execute donor eventsActively participate in organizational events, such as resident and Sales and Marketing eventsGeneral ResponsibilitiesAdhere to the policies and procedures of the organizationParticipate in and stay current on training and education required by the companyCommunicate effectively with all staff and business partnersProvide feedback for continuous quality improvement of the organizationOpenly accept feedback from others for continuous quality improvementEscalate issues when business standards of quality are not presentComply with all rules and regulations of the organization, including HIPAA and safetyPerform other duties as assignedJob Requirements / SpecificationsEssential QualificationsLeadership with appreciation of diverse team membersAnalytic, creative approach to problem-solvingRelationship sales with proven ability to closeTeam-building and sustained quality improvement trainingIdentify and pursue new opportunities to expand a networkProven presentation skillsAbility to measure and evaluate program costs against outcomesUnderstanding of geographic and psychographic demographics of primary prospectsAbility to recognize and analyze trends in market and marketing/sales processesAbility to set clear expectations for clients and colleaguesFamiliar with planning, budgeting and monitoring tools; social media proficiencyEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree or comparable work experienceThree or more years of proven relationship sales experience; experience in senior living, hospitality, high-rise residential real estate or healthcare is a plusTwo or more years of supervision/management experienceExperience with SHERPA or similar CRM is a plusWillingness to travel throughout the Chicago metro area and participate in local community groupsPreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in related fieldPrevious sales and marketing experience with a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)Language SkillsAbility to read, write and speak English proficientlyPhysical DemandsVision requirements include close, distance, peripheral and depth perception;
