We’re hiring a District Sales Manager to lead and grow a field Sales Team. In this role, you will lead and develop an 11-person field sales team covering Northern Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine for a rapidly expanding industrial distributor in the MRO space. With a $2B market opportunity and significant room for share capture, this is your chance to make a measurable impact. You’ll guide your team through transformation, influence strategy at a high level, and be backed by extensive support from Strategic Accounts, BDRs, and national programs. In order to be considered you must have managed a team of sales reps; ideally in the industrial space. Key qualifications and examples Been recognized over 20x by Selling Power as: “Best Companies to Sell For” Examples of key customers: United Rentals, SunBelt Rentals. A well-established industry leader founded over 50 yrs ago; backed by private equity and accelerating expansion through strategic acquisitions and new market growth. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $95,000 - $105,000 with a total target compensation range of $118,750 - $131,250. Medical, dental, and vision benefits start on the first day of employment. 401(k) with company match of 100% on the first 3% and 50% on the next 2% (up to 4% total match). FSA, HSA, dependent care savings, life and disability insurance, EAP, wellness resources, and voluntary coverage options such as accident and critical illness insurance. PTO: 16 days of paid vacation in the first year (vacation and sick), plus 10 paid company holidays; vacation accruals increase with tenure. Hardest part of the job We are not the lowest-cost provider in the market. Selling at a premium price can be challenging as competitors may offer cheaper options. Success in this role requires shifting the conversation from price to the value of our solution — emphasizing the benefits of having a dedicated rep, personalized support, and the service that sets us apart. Hiring profile Must have proven leadership experience — we are looking for a true sales leader, not just an individual contributor. Candidates should be comfortable coaching, developing, and motivating a team rather than focusing on personal production. Preference for candidates from within the MRO or industrial distribution industry. Must understand how to coach, develop, and build successful sales teams while driving performance. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
