Astranis designs, builds, and operates its satellites from its headquarters in Northern California, USA.PCB Layout EngineerAs a PCB layout engineer at Astranis, you will be responsible for completing PCB layout across the entire company—supporting designs across payload, avionics and power. You will interface directly with design engineers to gather board requirements and mechanical constraints and implement those into the PCB layout. You will also interface with the PCBA manufacturing team and external fab and assembly vendors to implement design for manufacturing (DFM) and ensure reliable hardware for space.RolePlacement and routing of high-reliability PCB designs, with schematic and layout input from design engineersRouting of power, high-speed digital, RF, and analog PCB designsAssist library team in creating and reviewing schematic symbols and footprints from datasheets and 3D modelsOwn design standards, templates, release procedures and interface to PLM systemInterface with PCB manufacturing team and external fabrication and assembly vendors to assess capabilities, design stackups and implement design for manufacturing (DFM)RequirementsB.S. or M.S. in electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent technical degree2+ years of PCB layout and routing experienceFamiliarity with Altium or similar design toolsExperience with IPC standards (Class 2/3, IPC-A-610, IPC-7351)Applicants are encouraged to apply even if not all criteria are metBonusExperience with scripting or automationExperience with PLM software (Arena preferred)Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and assembly processesStrong communication and teamwork skillsWhat we offerAll positions offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits.
