Ericsson is looking for a talented Principal Engineer to join our progressive team.About this opportunityThe Principal Engineer is a key role responsible for architecting and implementing modem firmware and platform drivers for NCOS.Ericsson Inc. does not sponsor US work authorizations for this job position including H-1B, O-1, L-1 and TN. This role can be CA remote.What you will doDesign and develop scalable embedded f/w, stack, and NCOS drivers to integrate multi-modem HWPerform modem bring-up with NCOS modem drivers and verify that the modem functions properly for features and performance.Experience in Modem Data Path with HW accelerators is a plusAssist the team in debugging, including writing/improving test toolsSupport team during critical issues with modem SW integrationsHelp stabilize the S/WThe skills you bringBS/MS in computer science or equivalent qualificationsFive (5+) years of embedded Linux FW device driver and feature development experienceSolid programming skills in C/C++ with a good understanding of OS conceptsStrong understanding of ARM architecture, RTOS, and multiprocessor communication mechanismsStrong FW debugging and analytical skillsBonus PointsTen (10+) years of industry experience in architecting and implementing BSP/Device Driver, including debugging experience in multiple driver areasThree (3+) years of experience in bringing up host modem drivers, implementing and optimizing the Modem communication platform software and SDK. Knowledgeable in Embedded Modem SoC Architecture, PCIe, SIM Driver, UART, SPI / I2C, SHM (shared memory), and SOC Bring-upExperience with HW platforms, identify performance bottlenecks in the system, and take ownership of the related optimizations.Ability to independently pursue new ideas and innovationsAbility to work with cross-functional development (HW and SW) and Validation (QA) teams to diagnose/root-cause issuesWhy join Ericsson?At Ericsson, you'll have an outstanding opportunity. Specific ranges include:San Diego, CA: $209,600 - $275,100Bay Area: $229,200 - $300,825Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target.
