Oversees and manages kitchen operations. The Food Service Manager will be supporting a varied work schedule as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadershipDevelop team members to their fullest potentialEnsure individual and team performance meets objectives and expectationsPlan and lead team meetingsEnsure safety and sanitation standards in all operationsEnsure entire team is trained and able to implementSupervise team regarding production, quality and controlPerform inventoryManage team members’ performance, including verify time card by end of each pay periodComplianceMaintain a safe and healthy environmentFollow all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hourOther Organizational DutiesConduct business in accordance with the Mission Action Employee Handbook, exercising sound judgment and serving the best interests of the agency and the communityCommit yourself to treating each community member with respect and dignityPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesBackground in and passion for working with low-income and immigrant communities around issues of affordable housing, land use, and/or immigrant & worker rights; familiarity with these issues in the Mission District and San Francisco, highly desiredRequires at least 1 year of experienceRequires at least 1 year of experience in a management roleBachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferredStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to maintain an effective working relationship with other programsRequires lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbMust be able to stand for extended periods of timeBilingual in spoken and written Spanish, highly desiredFood Manager Certification required or obtain within 30 days of employmentTB clearance requiredEqual OpportunityMission Action (is an equal-opportunity employer which values lived experience and seeks applicants of the greatest diversity possible.
