OverviewWe are seeking a seasoned and business-savvy Corporate Counsel to join our Legal team at a leading property and casualty auto insurance company headquartered in Miami, Florida. This role will focus exclusively on insurance regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and business transactions. The ideal candidate will have deep familiarity with the legal and operational landscape of P&C insurance and bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset to supporting internal stakeholders and guiding executive leadership on legal risk. This position is hybrid, and includes both in-person and remote work days.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide legal counsel on issues impacting the company’s P&C insurance operations, including compliance with state insurance laws, regulatory filings, and coordination with Departments of InsuranceDraft, review, and negotiate insurance-related business agreements, including vendor contracts, licensing agreements, and reinsurance or MGAs/TPAs as applicableAdvise on corporate governance matters such as board documentation, entity maintenance, corporate filings, and internal policy developmentSupport the company’s regulatory strategy, including market conduct exam responses, rate/form filings, and oversight of compliance reporting requirementsMonitor evolving insurance regulations and ensure timely internal communication and compliance adaptationCollaborate with cross-functional departments (Product, Claims, Underwriting, Risk) to identify and mitigate regulatory risksManage interactions with regulators and outside counsel as neededAssist with corporate structuring, expansion into new jurisdictions, or licensing initiativesQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdictionMinimum of 5+ years of legal experience (in-house or law firm), with a strong background in employment and business law.
