Job Description

Ibotta is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as Legal Counsel, Strategic Partnerships on our legal team, reporting to our Senior Legal Counsel, and to contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of legal expertise, business and strategic acumen, and commitment to our Company mission. With a focus on supporting our business development, strategic partnerships, and revenue teams, the Strategic Partnerships Counsel Counsel will play a crucial role in shepherding, managing, and negotiating deals, including drafting bespoke, high-value agreements, managing risk, and advising on related issues. There is a growth opportunity to expand into other areas of an in-house practice, as needed.This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office, (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must reside in the United States.What you will be doing:Draft and negotiate unique, bespoke partnership or other agreements in collaboration with Ibotta’s business development, strategic partnerships, and revenue organizations, as well as senior leadershipExercising deal and project management skills to coordinate meetings, and create issues lists with summaries of redlines, recommended positions, and negotiating strategies to drive decision making and deals forward with relevant teamsEmploy negotiation skills that optimize collaboration across departments to creatively and strategically solve legal and business problemsMerge finance, accounting, and business acumen with legal and strategic expertise to facilitate the efforts of various teams to achieve Ibotta’s strategic initiatives (i.e., you’re a strategic partner, not just a service provider!)Ensure agreements and transactions with customers and partners comply with Ibotta’s policies and applicable lawsOptimize, manage, and enhance Ibotta’s contract management lifecycle policies, procedures, and toolsRoll up your sleeves to take on tasks both big and small with low ego and a collaborative approach in a fast-paced environmentAddress other ad-hoc or specialized legal issues as neededEmbrace and uphold Ibotta’s Core Values: Integrity, Boldness, Ownership, Teamwork, Transparency & A Good Idea Can Come From AnywhereWhat we are looking for:5+ years of legal professional experience - a combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferredFinance, accounting, or business undergraduate degree and/or sophisticated understanding of those implications with respect to deal drafting and negotiationM&A or private equity deals experience is preferredExperience crafting sophisticated language from general business goals directed by leadershipExperience working closely with senior leadership and balancing expectations with risk mitigationMarketing technology and data industry partnership agreement familiarityJ.D. from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar is requiredProven interpersonal and presentation skills, and ability to develop a strong rapport and working relationship with business, product, and technology counterpartsExceptional sense of ownership, desire to learn, and make a cross-functional impactPublic companies experience a bonusExposure to employment practices, privacy, corporate governance, securities, and commercial litigation a bonusAdditional Details:This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, snacks, and occasional meals.Base compensation range: $150,000 - $175,000. Equity is included in the overall compensation package. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary.
