Thanks for your interest in joining our team!Key statistics:950+ Consultants640+ Ph.D.s90+ Disciplines30+ Offices globallyOur OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Manager/Managing Engineer with expertise in Chemical Process Safety and Process Hazard/Root Cause Analyses for our Thermal Sciences Practice in Los Angeles, CA.You will be responsible forSupporting and conducting technical investigations or loss of containment incidentsConducting risk assessments and HAZOPSEvaluating mechanical integrity and Fitness for Service of fixed equipmentPreparing written reports, proposals, and presentationsAssisting with project managementYou will have the following skills and qualificationsM.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical, Petroleum, or Mechanical Engineering, with a practical and theoretical understanding of combustion, heat transfer, and fluid mechanicsProfessional Engineering License preferredA minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in the area of process safety and risk assessment, and evaluating mechanical integrity pursuant to API 510, 570, 571, and 579, preferably in the petrochemical industryProcess Simulation experience using HYSYS, Chemcad, or SimuLisExtensive understanding of API, ASME, and ASTM standards and OSHA regulations/requirementsFamiliarity with Process Critical documents and equipment (e.g. PFDs, P&IDs; columns, HEs, reactors)Excellent written and verbal communications skillsAbility to gather information from and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, the legal profession, business, and industryOutstanding skills and proven track record conducting incident investigations and hazard assessment via any recognized methodologyDomestic and international travel will likely be requiredLife @ ExponentTo learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links:Life at ExponentOur ImpactAttracting, inspiring, developing, and rewarding exceptional people with diverse backgrounds and expertise are central to our corporate culture. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent.
