We’re hiring a Night Proctor, Female Dormitory to Live. Work. Explore. at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon! Job Summary To clean, provide maintenance, foster community and safety and enforcement of company policy in assigned housing areas. The Details Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Pay: $17.70 per hour Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week Why Grand Canyon South Rim? Responsibilities Clean employee housing dormitory facilities and areas including but not limited to washrooms, laundry rooms, hallway storage rooms, porches, entryways, lounges, recreation rooms, lobbies, and maintain grounds. Foster a positive community among residents. Create engagement activities at the residential units. Adhere to all safety, risk management policies and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment while performing tasks. Report maintenance problems and other needed work in employee housing facilities including paint requests, carpet cleaning, etc. Submit requests for supplies through the Resident Administrative Assistant. Point of contact for resident issues potentially escalating to management as needed. Respond to lock out requests. Contact Fire & Security and/or National Park Service Rangers as necessary for medical and/or security situations. Follow necessary steps to support Fire & Security when fire alarm sounds. Check guest passes and adherence and enforcement of employee housing policies and procedures including maintaining quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently and tactfully interact with a diverse group of people. Ability to recognize maintenance and safety related hazards. Must have the willingness to work varied hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform outside tasks under adverse weather conditions including wet and ice surfaces. Must have a good attitude, good judgement, flexibility and diplomacy. Physical Requirements include: Able to meet all physical requirements of the job, which include repetitive motion of all extremities and the back including continual kneeling, squatting, bending, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and long periods of standing/walking. Ability to maintain high quality of work and high energy while taking more than 15,000-20,000 steps per work day at an elevation of 7,000 feet. Constantly lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds and frequently anywhere from 50 to 100 pounds. Frequently pushing or pulling up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
