Gilbane is seeking an HR Business Partner II to be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with local business partner and senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting/employment, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation and employment law compliance. You will protect and promote the interests of both Gilbane and the client in all matters as well as demonstrating the personal characteristics of a developing leader.ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and resolve day-to-day employee relations problems, either directly or through advice to managementManage College Hiring and Intern Programs (includes career fair attendance, interviewing and hiring candidates to meet Business Unit College graduate hiring goals)Participate in the recruitment process by discussing staffing needs with management, interviewing key hires and make recommendations to management for hiring decisionsParticipate in Staffing meetings to ensure workforce planning data is captured and updated to reflect current needs/availabilityProvide advice to managers on employee wages and salaries to administer the Salary Planning ProcessChampion the annual performance appraisal process to ensure completionOrganize and conduct new hire orientationConduct Exit Interviews to develop Lessons LearnedCoordinate and participate in the annual Succession Planning processActively participate in Business Unit and Corporate HR Strategic plan initiativesMaintain awareness of current and changing employment lawsQualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONBS or MS degree5 to 8 years’ human resource experience, or a master’s degree in human resource management and two years’ experience in the HR fieldOr 7 years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience3 years minimum of HRBP experience requiredSHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred but not requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESHuman Resources CapacityProblem Solving/AnalysisProject ManagementCommunication ProficiencyEthical ConductTime ManagementAbility to communicate effectively and develop rapport and trust with coworkers and the employee populationFluent in Microsoft Office and HRIS softwareSalary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.For Maryland this ranges from $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
