Job DescriptionImaging Team Leader, General Procedures - Full Time NightsResponsible for maintaining continuity in the day-to-day operations of the General Procedures section of the Department of Radiology. Acts as a resource person to the other technologists. Management duties such as keeping inventory and assisting the manager with ordering. Keeps department clean and inspection-ready at all times. Meets regularly with the manager to discuss problems or suggestions for improving procedures and patient through-put. Performs procedures as a Radiologic Technologist when needed.Essential Job Functions:Maintains staffing levels for the area of assignment, ensures staff members are in place at the designated times prepared to work.Follows guidelines for staffing set forth by department protocol and works directly with manager to achieve.Works directly with technologists assigning work and ensures work is done in a timely manner with optimal quality achieved.Works directly with radiologists to make sure correct exam has been ordered and performed.Maintains supply levels and handles appropriate ordering when supply level drops.Ensures area is cleaned appropriately before and after each shift.Maintains a fair and balanced work flow for all team members.Performs general x-ray procedures selecting proper technical equipment settings and images in proper sequence according to set protocols established by the Department of Radiology.Evaluates the request for procedures and assesses the patient to determine the appropriate procedure protocol and method of application.Appropriately employs imaging systems, accessory devices, and patient positioning techniques to generate quality images.Cares for the patient throughout the procedure according to department and hospital standards of patient care and age-specific sensitivities.Participates in lifting and transporting patients to and from imaging devices.Evaluates the resultant images in comparison with industry standards and takes corrective action, if needed.Refers to appropriate reference materials for clarification when needed.Provides patient education prior to, during and subsequent to the procedure in order to reduce the patient’s anxiety and enhance his or her comfort zone with and tolerance of the procedure.Utilizes Radiology information systems in accordance with current guidelines and protocols.Documents imaging procedures manually and/or electronically to insure correct charging, and patient and film file tracking.Required Qualifications:Current registry by ARRTCurrent IEMA licenseCurrent CPR/BLS certificationSatisfactory completion of formal Radiography training program through an accredited school3 years of Radiography experienceEffective communication skills and excellent patient care skillsExcellent leadership skillsAbility to handle a high-pressure, fast-paced work environmentPosition DetailsJob Type/FTE: Full Time (0.9 FTE)Shift: 3rd Shift, Friday - SundayWork Location: Hyde ParkUnit/Department: XRAY / Imaging / Radiology / DiagnosticCBA Code: Non-UnionWhy Join UsWe’ve been at the forefront of medicine since 1899.
