With over 2,400 employees dedicated to the idea that “Your Mission is Our Passion,” DLH brings a unique combination of government sector experience, proven methodology, and unwavering commitment to innovation to improve the lives of millions.OverviewThe Configuration Management (CM) Specialist 3 will serve as the primary authority for establishing, implementing and maintaining configuration management policy and processes for a Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I) program. This role ensures all technical baselines, documentation, and deliverables are properly controlled, traceable, and compliant with Navy standards and contract requirements. The CM Specialist III will work closely with project managers, senior engineers, and government stakeholders to oversee version control, change management, and release processes, while also ensuring that configuration data supports system integrity, cybersecurity requirements, and lifecycle sustainment. Acting as both a technical leader and process expert, this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to develop and enforce disciplined CM practices across multidisciplinary teams.ResponsibilitiesEstablish, implement, and oversee configuration management (CM) processes and standards across assigned Navy C4I projects, ensuring compliance with Navy and contract requirements.Identify, document, and maintain system configuration items, including hardware inventories, software licenses, documentation, and configuration baselines.Manage configuration status accounting and conduct regular configuration audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and traceability of system baselines.Support and facilitate Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), including defining, documenting, and enforcing procedures for releasing new or updated products throughout the system lifecycle.Draft, maintain, and enforce CM and change management policies, processes, and procedures in alignment with Navy standards and best practices.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and government stakeholders to evaluate, track, and implement configuration changes while minimizing impact to cost, schedule, or performance.Provide detailed CM reporting and metrics to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring visibility into baseline status, change requests, and release schedules.Promote adherence to disciplined CM practices across the team.Collaborate with program/project managers, government stakeholders, and team leads to develop levels of effort, plan project schedules, and manage the ongoing execution of the project.QualificationsClearance: Active Secret or higherEducation: Any bachelor’s degree. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technical Management, Information Systems, Information Resources Management, or similar majors are preferred.Experience: Ten (10) years of professional experience identifying, maintaining and controlling system configuration items such as hardware inventory, software licenses, system/software documentation, configuration baseline management, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.Minimum five (5) concurrent years of professional CM experience in support of Navy C4I systems.Demonstrated experience supporting a Configuration Control Board with defining and implementing procedures for releasing new products throughout the entire life cycle.Demonstrated experience drafting and maintaining change management and configuration management policy, processes and procedures adhering to Navy standards.Demonstrated experience utilizing Git and DevOps tools for automation, reporting, and CM (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Similar).Strong oral and written communication skillsBasic Compensation: $104,000- $135,200 yearly salaryThe salary range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The final offer may vary based on skills, experience, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity. Additional compensation may include performance incentives and program-specific awards.
