Dev Ops Engineers

Job DescriptionWe are seeking DevOps Engineers for our clients' offices in San Jose, CA, and San Diego, CA. The ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of infrastructure and operations, with experience developing cloud-based solutions and products using AWS (S3, EC2, etc.) and scripting languages such as Python or Ruby. The role involves providing operational support and process improvements.Responsibilities include:Designing and deploying new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.Planning and performing operating system and software upgrades.Developing and supporting cloud infrastructure designs and implementations, including software deployment.Proposing and creating system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide development teams and documenting processes.QualificationsAt least 5 years of infrastructure and operations experience, preferably in a startup environment with a DevOps culture.Experience with virtualization (Xen/KVM) and AWS services (S3, EC2, etc.).Background in post-implementation support.Experience in agile software development work management skills, including network stack tuning, load balancing, subnets, and VLANs.Proficiency with automated deployment and scripting (Python, Ruby, etc.).Understanding of file systems and storage solutions like NFS and SSD data replication.Hands-on experience with configuration management and orchestration tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.Experience with system monitoring tools like Nagios, Zenos, or Sensu.Preferred Experience:Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Solr, Elasticsearch, Cassandra).Open source technologies such as Apache/Tomcat, Nginx, MySQL.Tools like Confluence, Jenkins, Jira.Additional InformationSouthTek Resources is a full-service tactical headhunting firm specializing in staffing for Technology, Defense and Aerospace, Manufacturing, Security, and Private Equity markets.
