OverviewThe Senior Audio Visual (AV) Engineer provides advanced technical expertise, design leadership, and project oversight to ensure AV systems meet all project requirements, codes, specifications, and industry standards. This role acts as a lead designer and mentor, managing multiple small-to-medium projects or one large-scale initiative, while guiding junior engineers and CAD staff to deliver high-quality solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of 2 - 5 designers and CAD personnel, ensuring quality and consistency in project deliverables.Review, comment on, and process AV system and equipment submittals for accuracy and compliance.Prepare project-specific AV system specifications and documentation.Develop comprehensive and accurate system sequences of operations.Support and oversee system testing, commissioning, and validation activities.Coordinate AV designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, process, and electrical disciplines.Design and manage multiple AV systems and project packages simultaneously.Adapt effectively to dynamic project requirements, client needs, and tight deadlines.Maintain professional, client-facing communication with internal and external stakeholders.Produce system single-line diagrams, including conduit and cabling requirements.Align project design criteria with equipment procurement and specification needs.Conduct quality reviews and value engineering to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.Participate in design coordination meetings, interfacing with clients, architects, contractors, and project managers.Collaborate closely with Operations Project Managers to align design with project budgets and schedules.Identify and resolve design conflicts, interpretation issues, and technical errors.Provide design oversight during construction phases, ensuring timely and accurate information delivery; attend owner and contractor meetings as required.Perform other related duties aligned with the role’s scope.Education & Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.AVIXA CTS-I and CTS-D certifications required.Preferred certifications: Crestron, Extron, QSC, or equivalent vendor credentials.Familiarity with control system programming (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC).Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience as an AV Systems Engineer, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.Consultancy experience preferred.Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesDeep expertise in AV systems, including audio/DSP, video distribution, control systems, digital signage, and projection technologies.Hands-on experience with products from leading vendors (Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Shure, Epson, Panasonic, etc.).Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and regulations.Proficiency in project documentation, system archiving, and quality assurance processes.Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite; Oracle or other ERP systems preferred.Exceptional multitasking, prioritization, and adaptability to changing demands.Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.Self-motivated leader with proven ability to drive collaboration, mentor junior staff, and deliver high-quality AV solutions.Seniority levelNot ApplicableEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionIndustries #J-18808-Ljbffr
