Overview Duties: Cover Payments clients in the highly specialized Marketplaces and Digital Ecosystems (MDE) team. Act as second chair on megacap technology relationships, managing complex Payments portfolios with industry head/co-heads. Specialize in providing Payments services to platform and unlicensed marketplace clients. Act as first chair on prospect, new-to-bank relationships and existing clients, lead client engagements such as direct proposal writing (RFP/RFI), commercials and bids, contract negotiations, solution design and execution. Understand client’s business goals, environments, strategies, and industry trends to better determine their requirements and identify potential new business opportunities for Payments via appropriate solution(s): commerce payments (open banking, merchant acquiring, embedded finance, real-time payments, etc.), traditional cash management, trade, international, liquidity and commercial card. Design comprehensive payments solutions that include both commerce payments, trade financing and traditional cash management. Develop and execute strategic initiatives, such as commercialization and growth strategies for specific client or product segments. Maximize profitability through the appropriate pricing of new business wins, product extensions, and cross-selling other products. Attend and participate in industry events, representing J.P. Morgan Payments. Handle pipeline and forecasts effectively, highlighting key deals and any risks to achieving annual growth targets. Understand, vet and share client feedback with Product teams and help drive new product development. Responsible for addressing business issues such as risk, legal and compliance and managing resolution. Understand structural and foundational requirements in third-party funds models such as marketplace payments, creator and developer payouts. Manage complex risks associated with third-party money, money transmission licensing, global anti-money laundering compliance, global sanctions compliance, etc. This position requires up to 25% domestic and international travel. Responsibilities Lead and manage client engagements for Payments across platforms and marketplaces, including new-to-bank relationships and existing clients. Develop and deliver proposals, RFPs/RFIs, commercials, bids, and contracts; oversee solution design and execution. Assess client business goals, environments, strategies, and industry trends to define requirements and identify opportunities for Payments solutions: commerce payments, traditional cash management, trade, international, liquidity and commercial card. Design end-to-end payments solutions encompassing commerce payments, trade financing, and traditional cash management. Develop and execute strategic growth initiatives for specific client or product segments; maximize profitability through pricing and cross-sell. Represent the organization at industry events; manage and communicate pipeline, forecasts, risks, and key deals. Collaborate with Product teams, provide client feedback, and support new product development. Address risk, legal, and compliance issues and drive issue resolution. Understand and manage third-party funds models, marketplace payouts, and related licensing and compliance requirements (AML, sanctions, etc.). Navigate complex risks associated with third-party money and money transmission licensing; ensure global AML and sanctions compliance. Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally as required. Qualifications Minimum education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or related field plus 3 years of experience in a related role (e.g., Sales Strategy Support, Payments Analyst/Associate/VP). Alternatively, a Master’s degree in the same fields plus 1 year of related experience. Skills: Designing end-to-end payments services for complex corporate clients by analyzing pay-in to pay-out flows and aligning solutions; building and leading teams to deliver end-to-end payment solutions for specialized clients in marketplace industries; developing relationships with senior client stakeholders (procurement, treasury, corporate finance, engineering, payments); selling traditional transaction banking, commerce payments, merchant acquiring, commercial card, and working capital solutions. Experience with go-to-market strategy, deal strategy, and negotiating complex legal and commercial documents; optimizing working capital; collaborating with internal partners (sales, product management, client service, Global Corporate Banking, implementation). Ability to operate in a global, large, complex, matrixed organization across time zones and geographies; creating and managing account plans to win and expand market share with highly specialized clients; managing transaction banking credit risk.
