Equally, the leader focuses on continuous improvement and innovation in construction management, always ensuring the industry/'s best-in-class and sustainable solutions for customers.ResponsibilitiesOverall leadership and strategy implementationSet and optimize end-to-end design strategy, structure, and process for all projects globallyAdept at balancing intense short-term pressures with overall long-term strategy or goalsAnalyze and direct the application of emerging industry best practices, tools, and methods to enhance product design solutions, working closely with internal stakeholders and stakeholdersLead, structure, and develop a best-in-class team and process for design execution and innovation globallyShape a collaborative, transparent, and entrepreneurial culture, in tandem with the corporate leadership teamLead and motivate diverse teams around shared vision and change story in line with aggressive growth prospectsSupport key construction programs and initiative implementationDesign decision-maker for GDC globally. Leads the formulation of standards and best practices for the design of all Equinix data centers - Retail and Hyperscale product setsLeads and manages Innovation & Development, Master Planning/Concept Design, Standards, and Technical Review teams and efforts globallyLeads regional design teams to adopt and accommodate standards and best practices for designProviding local knowledge and insight to key stakeholdersCollaborates with construction and procurement teams to effectively procure, install, and commission design solutionsCollaborates with operations teams to ensure design standards and best practices with their requirementsNurtures regional design teams and the supporting supply chain on Equinix design standards and best practicesIdentify opportunities for process improvementDevelops a roadmap for innovation, investigation of new products and services, and how they will be assimilated into standardsEvangelizes Equinix/'s designs and core design philosophies such as reliability, safety, sustainability, and cost-efficiency with internal and external customers and suppliersDevelops and maintains support tools for the Design function globallyProvides master planning/concept designs as part of Equinix/'s investment planning, review, and approval processThought leader and influencer within GDCOversees detailed technical review process with regional design leads to ensure that project designs meet the global design standards and business case requirementsOpines on proposed deviations to the standards or the requirementsLeads the productization effort for all Major Capital Equipment (MCE) incorporated in design solutions, working closely with the MCE procurement organizationCollaborates closely cross-functionally with Construction, Procurement, Operations, Sales, Product, Marketing, Corporate Development, etc. to represent and develop all data center design requirementsMeets with customers to understand and incorporate requirementsQualificationsExtensive experience (15+ years) in driving construction project strategy and delivery in a high-tech environment across data centers, semiconductors, biopharma and/or gigafactories in North America either buy-side or supply-sideSubstantial track record of running similar-sized capex budgets and span of projects and managing revenue or operating budgets for a global organizationDeep knowledge of core construction critical facility design engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, and control systems) and developing/applying design standard systemsProven success in engaging with an extended international supply chain to deliver large-scale buildsStrong people management experience with a similar-sized team (40+)Experience in presenting to and collaborating with C/E-suite level colleaguesPassion for technology, craft, and the success of the team and companyAbility to translate complex technical information for a broad audienceAbility to analyze and evaluate management information to inform time-sensitive decisionsAbility to work in a global business environment across geographies and culturesSkills and attributes soughtStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a master/'s or bachelor/'s degree preferredAbility to apply company values to execution of organizational strategyContinual improvement mindsetStrong people leadership to guide a diverse, globally dispersed team of subject matter expertsDemonstrated success in developing teams and future leadersCross-functional influencing skills with internal peers, external customers, and industry expertsAbility to develop and deliver against a future-focused strategyThe targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 230,000 - 346,000 USD / AnnualUnited States - Denver Office DEO : 230,000 - 346,000 USD / AnnualUnited States - Houston Office HOO : 230,000 - 346,000 USD / AnnualUnited States - Seattle Office SES : 242,000 - 364,000 USD / AnnualUnited States - Redwood City Office GHQ : 250,000 - 374,000 USD / AnnualUnited States - Chicago Office CHO : 242,000 - 364,000 USD / AnnualUnited States - Washington DC Office : 242,000 - 364,000 USD / AnnualUnited States - Tampa Office TAO : 230,000 - 346,000 USD / AnnualUnited States - New York City Office NYO1 : 242,000 - 364,000 USD / AnnualUnited States - Atlanta 1 Filed Office : 230,000 - 346,000 USD / AnnualUnited States - Ashburn Office AEO : 242,000 - 364,000 USD / AnnualOur pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.
