Boeing/'s Space, Intelligence and Weapons Systems oversees the company/'s major commercial and government satellite and ground programs for communications, national defense, and other missions.Position detailsThis position is expected to be 100% onsite at the El Segundo, CA location. The worksite participates in Boeing/'s optional 9/80 schedule rotation, allowing every other Friday off.ResponsibilitiesDesigning and developing next generation RF and digital satellite communication systemsDeveloping and verifying multi-rate, fixed-point signal processing algorithmsConducting performance analysis of signal processing modelsPerforming waveform development and characterizationPerforming trade studiesSupporting integration and test of payloads and spacecraft from unit level through in-orbit operationsSupporting HDL-level design and verificationPerforming detailed system design and verification activitiesLeading teamsLeading IR&D activitiesBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer scienceExperience in digital communication theory and systems, digital signal processing (DSP), algorithm design and implementation, or systems engineering principles3+ years (Lead) or 5+ years (Senior) of experience with Matlab or Simulink5+ years (Lead) or 10+ years (Senior) of experience in Digital Signal Processing or Digital Communications3+ years (Lead) or 5+ years (Senior) of experience in systems engineering concepts1+ years (Lead) or 5+ years (Senior) of experience working with FPGAs or ASICsLead level: typically 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experienceSenior level: typically 14+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experiencePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, waveform generator, spectrum analyzer)Experience leading teams of engineersAdditional informationDrug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol as outlined in our policies.At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that includes competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities.
