The Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division is responsible for enabling and evolving Capital One’s foundational cloud infrastructure layer, including observability, connectivity, resilience and availability. About the team As a Senior Manager of Technical Program Management (TPM) on Capital One’s Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering organization, we seek someone with experience leading large-scale complex programs spanning multiple lines of business and divisions, partnering with both business and product teams to deliver against technology intent for integrating two highly diverse technology ecosystems. In addition, you will help pave the way for an expanding TPM discipline within the team by sharing industry knowledge and experience to demonstrate what great TPM can achieve. Responsibilities Lead large-scale, cross-functional programs across multiple lines of business and divisions. Partner with business and product teams to deliver against technology intent for ecosystem integration. Pave the way for an expanding TPM discipline by mentoring and sharing TPM best practices. Our TPM Sr. Managers have Strong technical backgrounds (ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services) with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life-cycle Exceptional communication and collaboration skills Excellent problem solving and influencing skills A quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer of holistic solutions; a systems thinker Ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives Deep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results Exceptional cross-team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep-seated empathy for teams and partners Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree At least 5 years of experience managing technical programs Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services/architecture – preferably AWS 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery 3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs, owning the business or technical vision, collaborating with large cross-functional teams, securing commitments on deliverables, and unblocking teams to land business impact 3+ years of experience building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) Compliance & Benefits Immigration notice: At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer immigration-related support for this position. The salary ranges are location-based and subject to change. For example: McLean, VA: $193,000 - $220,300; Plano, TX: $175,500 - $200,300. Actual offers will be reflected in the offer letter. This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
