The selected candidate will be working with modern technology to improve system reliability, using automation and monitoring tools to manage IT tasks, minimizing downtime, and ensure systems meet defined performance and cyber requirements. This position is located in San Diego, CA.Essential FunctionsApply software engineering principles to operations and infrastructure problems to build and maintain scalable, highly reliable software systemsDevelop engineering and automated deployments for datacenter system configurationsRespond and resolve reported issues with the systemCollaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and redline documented proceduresWork closely with engineers and technicians in a lab environmentIntegrate and test software and/or hardware systems in complex IT systemsThe selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable in a lab environment and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers.Basic QualificationsBachelor/'s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 0 years of related engineering experienceExperience with VMware products (ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, NSX, etc)Experience in developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks.Experience with one or more of the scripting languages: Python, PowerShell, BashFamiliar with version control, GIT experience preferredAbility to author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and/or upgrade documentationActive Top Secret DoD Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain program accessPreferred QualificationsProgram access (PAR)Strong background in Linux/Unix/Windows AdministrationBasic knowledge of Backup/Storage and Network technologiesExperience with concepts such as micro services (including scalability best practices), containers, and container orchestration using Docker or KubernetesExperience with OpenShiftExperience with Multi-Factor Authentication(MFA) and Private Key Infrastructure (PKI)Familiar with Agile methodologyPrimary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate/'s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
