As a Trial Attorney with Allstate's Client Legal Services team, you'll defend insured clients and the company in bodily injury, property damage, and general liability cases. You'll gain hands-on litigation experience through trials, arbitrations, and mediations, while also counseling internal clients and staying ahead of new legal developments. As a Trial Attorney with Allstate's Client Legal Services team, you'll defend insured clients and the company in bodily injury, property damage, and general liability cases. This is a dynamic role designed to provide real courtroom advocacy and strong mentorship to early-career attorneys building their trial practice.Key ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions to ensure favorable outcomes for clients.Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases, including preparation for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal terview clients and witnesses, as well as drafting summaries of their statements and maintaining communication records.Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings to observe and assist as needed; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.Monitor changes in laws and regulations and assist in updating the legal team on potential impacts to ongoing cases.Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and gain exposure to more complex legal work.EducationJuris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Connecticut State Bar.Minimum RequirementsSeeking candidates with entry-level to early career experience in trial advocacySuccessful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis, demonstrating the ability to conduct thorough legal research and draft clear, well-structured legal documents.Demonstrates strong time management skills, effectively balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.Capable of organizing case files, managing legal documents, and understanding the discovery process.Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions.Well-versed in legal ethics and the standards of professional conduct.Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions.Must be commutable distance to courthouses throughout Connecticut, primarily New Haven, Bridgeport, and Waterbury.Explore the Benefits of Joining Allstate's Client Legal ServicesExceptional Work-Life Balance: Allstate offers in-house litigation roles with more predictable schedules and flexibility to support professional excellence and personal life.Holistic Understanding of the Business: Gain insight into Allstate's diverse operations, objectives, and culture to align legal strategies with company goals.Direct Client Collaboration: Collaborate directly with internal stakeholders and business units, fostering proactive legal guidance and support.Strategic Influence and Impact: Contribute to strategic decisions and risk management initiatives within the legal team.Diverse Legal Challenges: Work across regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and dispute resolution in addition to traditional litigation.Professional Growth Opportunities: Access ample opportunities for advancement and professional development.SkillsClient Documentation, Collaborative Development, Evidence Gathering, Legal Document Preparation, Legal Documents, Legal Research, Legal Writing, Litigation, Team Player, TortsCompensationCompensation offered for this role is $105,000 - 118,000 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.Joining our team isn't just a job - it's an opportunity.
