OverviewOur client, a top Employment Law boutique law firm, is looking to hire an experienced employment law Associate for their growing San Diego office. In this role, candidates will be responsible for interfacing with clients, drafting and arguing motions, analyzing data, conducting all aspects of discovery, and attending mediations. This is a hybrid position with a 2 day minimum in the office; Wednesday in-office mandatory.ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage all aspects of employment litigation matters for private sector corporate clients in California, including wage & hour class actions and PAGA cases.Collaborate with a senior attorney to develop case strategies.Assist with deposition preparation, hearings, motions, mediations, etc.Prepare and respond to written discovery (including E-discovery) and class/PAGA mediation discovery requests.Analyze class/PAGA wage & hour data.Conduct legal research.Support trial preparation and attendance.Maintain proactive communication with the NFC team & clients.Handle all aspects of litigation, including work on lawsuits; EEO, DOL, and other administrative charges; pre-litigation demands; subpoenas, etc.QualificationsMinimum of 4 years of experience practicing employment law with a focus on wage & hour class actions and/or PAGA cases.Must be admitted to the California BarExceptional legal writing and communication skillsStrong attention to detailStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively and positively in a dynamic team environmentAbility to identify and resolve problems quicklyAbility to manage multiple clients and mattersCompensation and BenefitsCompensation for this role is 175k (4 years experience) – 195k (8 years experience). The final salary will depend on factors including skills, experience, and years of practice in employment law, plus a discretionary bonus.
