For further information, visit Job Description: Raritan Valley Community College's Allied Health Program is seeking an Adjunct Part-Time, Non-Credit, Phlebotomy & ECG Instructor to lead a hands-on, noncredit training program designed for high school students. The program introduces students to the essential skills and knowledge required for entry-level roles in healthcare, specifically in phlebotomy and electrocardiography, and prepares them to take the ASPT (American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians) certification exam. The ideal candidate will be committed to teaching and committed to fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment. Essential Duties: Deliver engaging instruction in phlebotomy and ECG procedures aligned with ASPT certification standards and industry expectations. Develop and implement lesson plans, skills labs, and assessments that support student learning outcomes. Teach students proper techniques for blood collection, ECG lead placement, patient interaction, infection control, and medical documentation. Supervise hands-on skills practice and simulations in a classroom/lab setting. Prepare students to sit for the ASPT certification exam and support the administrative aspects of exam readiness. Requirements: Current and valid certification/licensure as a Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant, RN, LPN, or other relevant healthcare professional with experience in phlebotomy and ECG. Must have current CPR certification. Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, including phlebotomy and ECG procedures. Three letters of reference attesting to experience in both healthcare practice and instruction. High school diploma or equivalent; postsecondary degree in a healthcare-related field preferred. Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills. Ability to relate effectively to adolescents and foster a positive learning environment. Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching or training experience, especially with high school or adolescent learners. Experience with curriculum development or instructional design in healthcare education. Familiarity with certification exams such as the ASPT, NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and Certified EKG Technician (CET).
