OverviewSr. Hardware Engineer: Connectivity ModulesHybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI three times per week (Tues., Wed., Thurs.) at a minimum.The Ideal CandidateConnectivity plays a pivotal role in using and advancing technology to offer unparalleled customer experience and develop revenue generating streams while acting as a cornerstone to offer safety critical, hands-free driving solutions in line with General Motor’s strong safety culture.We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Hardware Validation Engineer to join our team, focused on developing best-in-class automotive connectivity systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in developing and executing component level and system level test plans particularly for systems involving high-performance computing and wireless interfaces.The RoleThe Senior Hardware Engineer will be responsible to develop and implement detailed validation plans to verify schematic design, PCB layout, performance functional and electrical validation of all interfaces, and support issue resolution, of hardware components and systems that support Connectivity technologies across all GM vehicles and architectures. This role is tightly coupled to cross-functional teams, including mechanical designers, PCB layout, product managers, and system engineers, to create secure and reliable Connectivity solutions and assist in defining future technology roadmaps and resolution of issues that arise throughout development and production.What You’ll doExpert use of lab instruments: Oscilloscopes, VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, Power AnalyzersValidation signal and power integrity for LPDDR5, PCIe, USB3.x/2.0, SPI, I2C, CAN and LIN BusesDevelop, execute and maintain comprehensive validation plans for Connectivity module to verify component and system level functionalityCollaborate with design and production teams to understand and test against product requirementsAnalyze and interpret data from validation tests, offering insights and recommendationsValidate power delivery, power sequencing and power rail stability under various operating modesCollaborate with silicon vendors (e.g., NXP, TI, Qualcomm) to align on SoC bring up, and interface characteristicsCollaborate with software/firmware, systems and design teams to support root-cause analysis and functional bring-upCreate test reports, validation metrics, and recommend corrective actions or design improvements based on test resultsRequired Skills and ExperienceMinimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field6+ years of hands-on validation experience with focus on embedded and connectivity systemsExperience in validating high-performance computer systems, high-speed digital interfaces (e.g., PCIe, USB, Ethernet)Familiarity with power management ICs, Voltage regulators, low-power design principles, and deep sleep/wake-up flowsExcellent problem-solving skills with ability to work through complex HW and system issuesWhat Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)Master’s degree in related engineering fieldKnowledge and experience in wireless interfaces and technology#LI-SW1CompensationThe compensation information is a good faith estimate only. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington. The expected base compensation for this role is: $131,000 - $202,000.
