GIS Developer

OverviewMetric5 is seeking a highly skilled GIS developer. This role involves developing and maintaining GIS applications and tools to support our client spatial data needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background with GIS technologies and programming experience.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain and update Geographic Information System (GIS) databases; obtain data from city, state, federal and private sources; review maps, land parcel records and engineering documents. Identify pertinent GIS information and convert data into proper GIS formats.Ensure accuracy and completeness; enter data into databases; and update essential GIS layers and databases.Create a variety of maps and GIS-related documents.Provide expertise in GIS hardware and software products.Provide technical support to GIS users.Required skills / Level of ExperienceExperience with GIS development tools, including ESRI ArcPro, ArcPy, and Open-source GIS GeoPandasExperience with C++, C# and PythonExperience with SQLExcellent communication skills.Possession or ability to obtain and maintain the required favorably adjudicated DHS Public Trust background investigation.Preferred Skills / Level of ExperienceFamiliarity with SAFe Agile frameworks.Familiarity with GitExperience building and deploying desktop applicationsExperience with Scrum methodology and Agile practicesAbout Metric5Metric5 is a small business with big company benefits.
