CFO

OverviewChief Financial Officer (CFO) — Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) – Wilton, CT (fully on-site). Work hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Salary: $180,000–$200,000 commensurate with experience.ResponsibilitiesJoin a community with a proven record of fiscal responsibility and a solid foundation for strategic financial leadership.Provide central oversight of finance, tax collection, and assessment functions as part of municipal operations.Partner with leadership boards and commissions to inform long-term planning and decision-making.Contribute to capital improvements and infrastructure projects, supporting continuous enhancement of public services.Deliver strategic and tangible results in schools, public services, and quality-of-life initiatives.Employ knowledge of financial administration including accounting, budgeting, purchasing, investing, and treasury functions.Manage personnel, payroll, purchasing (including insurance), grant administration, and contract administration.Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and develop financial/statistical reports.Develop and lead staff through hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal laws, town charter provisions, ordinances, policies, and regulations.Establish and maintain cooperative relationships across departments with staff, officials, non-profits, financial institutions, and auditors.Demonstrate strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral and written).QualificationsAt least ten (10) years of municipal accounting experience, including supervision of professional staff.Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.CPA license preferred but not required.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products.Experience with enterprise systems; Munis experience preferred but not required.Experience in municipal, school, or government accounting and finance is a plus.#INSEP2025Job DetailsSeniority level: ExecutiveEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Finance and AdministrationIndustries: AccountingReferral messaging and location alerts apply for candidates interested in similar CFO roles in Wilton Center, CT. #J-18808-Ljbffr
