We offer an environment where professionals can build a purposeful career with work-life balance and meaningful challenges.Who we are looking forPurposeThe Executive Medical Science Liaison (MSL) has primary responsibility for building key opinion leader (KOL) partnerships by exchanging scientific data and medical information with external stakeholders (HCPs, researchers, professional organizations, patient advocacy groups, and formulary decision-makers) in the assigned Therapeutic Areas (TAs) with a focus on Respiratory (COPD/Asthma) across the aligned geography. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining educational and research collaborations; delivering clinical, scientific and technical education; and building long-term peer-to-peer relationships by listening with true curiosity to bring the customer’s voice into the organization.Candidates should live in/near Memphis, Nashville, Louisville, Birmingham or Atlanta; other Southeastern US locations may be considered.Main ResponsibilitiesScientific Exchange, Advice Seeking and Clinical Development SupportBuild external partnerships with recognized community and academic medical center KOLs to address scientific needs and current trends in the assigned Therapeutic Area.Identify and develop key thought leaders for medical education, clinical research and publication opportunities.Cultivate existing and identify new collaborative KOL relationships for advisory boards, sponsored research, investigator-initiated research, and speaker development.Provide KOL perspectives to field managers and teams to elevate scientific content within the organization.Identify opportunities to provide medical support and scientific education to HCPs at key institutions.Foster professional relationships in key institutions within the assigned geography.Facilitate cross-functional engagement based on customer needs.Identify and characterize real-world evidence needs within the therapeutic area.Represent Chiesi USA Medical Affairs at national, regional, and local scientific meetings.Provide field-based medical affairs assistance for clinical research initiatives supported by the itiated Trials or Collaborative InitiativesDeliver high-caliber medical education presentations in diverse settings.Gather and disseminate competitive intelligence in line with Company policies.Participate in internal therapeutic advisory groups.Plan with business partners to ensure alignment and optimize the customer experience.Therapeutic Support, Internal Collaboration and Project WorkLead and support internal medical projects aligned to the development plan.Support cross-functional projects and provide medical input.Contribute to publication planning, clinical research, medical education materials and internal training.Contribute to monthly medical meetings including journal clubs and team meetings.Mentor and onboard new team members.Administrative WorkComplete documentation of field activities, expenses and administrative reports accurately and plete required training on time and maintain professional licensing/certifications.Experience RequiredPost-graduate residency training with 7-10 years of MSL experience in the Respiratory Therapeutic Area (exception for PhD candidates with requisite experience).Prior launch experience in Asthma/COPD strongly preferred.Builds and leverages strategic relationships to identify opportunities and partnerships to improve care for providers and patients.Works effectively on diverse, multi-disciplinary teams with a focus on teamwork.Demonstrates disciplined planning, prioritization and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.High self-awareness, growth mindset, flexibility and positive attitude.Demonstrates scientific and clinical expertise with knowledge of real-world evidence and business acumen.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.Ability to challenge KOLs and HCPs tactfully while maintaining evidence-based positions.Active listening and curiosity; asks insightful questions to understand others’ viewpoints.Diplomacy and strong internal/external stakeholder relationship skills.Thorough knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and hospital credentialing processes, including obtaining necessary hospital credentials. Credentialing includes successful drug testing.EducationCompletion of a graduate-level degree (PharmD, MD, DO, DNP, PhD, MSN, MS or equivalent healthcare professional degree) with relevant clinical pensation DataThe annual base pay for this position ranges from $180,000 to $230,000. Overtime pay applies for qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as location, experience, and performance.
