OverviewThe Entertainment Director will serve as the department head for the entertainment.ResponsibilitiesOperational leadership: responsible for the overall operational efficiency of the department, quality control of personnel, technical issues and the guest experience through tracking and reporting.Scheduling: with shore side direction, responsible for entertainment scheduling onboard; uses strategic scheduling to generate pliance and safety: ensure the department abides by all safety regulations and is prepared for internal and external audits.Media elements: responsible for media elements onboard for entertainment such as FunTimes, FunHub and digital signage.Quality Control: coaching/discipline, responsible for coaching and guiding the department with periodic evaluations and appraisals, as well as Positive and Corrective Performance Records when disciplinary action is necessary.Monitoring: continually monitor activities, events, musical sets, etc., involving team members and provide guidance and training where necessary.Entertainment Operations Meeting: head of the Entertainment Operations Meeting; ensure a positive and effective environment to discuss issues related to show production, IssueTrak & maintenance, safety, scheduling, tracking, revenue and groups requirements. Meetings weekly with Cruise Director, Entertainment Technical Manager, Dance Captain, Musical Director and Media Manager.Shore side Communication: create voyage reports to communicate subjective and objective data to shore side management, including TGEM ratings & responses, iCare, attendance and performance feedback.Scheduling: create, monitor and modify the ships entertainment schedule to include activities, music, shows; monitor guest traffic, habits and patterns to maximize revenue and guest experience through entertainment scheduling.Scheduling/Meetings: create schedules for the department that comply with MLC 2006 requirements; conduct full Department meetings and Daily Compass meetings covering scheduling information.Revenue: Entertainment Programming responsibility to both entertainment and overall ship revenue; tailor the program to focus on guest flow into revenue areas during appropriate times.Business Partners: liaise with shipboard management and business partners to develop strategies to increase ship revenue performance.Requirements5+ years in the hospitality industry (entertainment experience preferred)3+ years with personnel management experienceBachelors Degree or higher preferredWorked in a similar role or at least as Asst.
