This unique team combines direct engagement with policymakers at all levels of government, advocacy campaigns, policy research and analysis, and programs to promote equity, safety, and sustainability.About The RoleDoorDash is hiring a proven Government Relations leader to help shape our public policy strategy, lead integrated issue management campaigns, and build lasting and positive relationships in the Central US. You are a leader but not a solo operator.We’re excited about you because…You have a BS or BA from an accredited universityYou have 6+ years of experience serving in government at the state level or working directly on public policy issues for corporate clientsYou thrive under pressure and have a proven ability to achieve hard-fought policy outcomesYou have a deep understanding of government relations, including effective lobbying strategies, direct engagement, campaign approaches to issue management, managing external consultants, coordinating with counterparts at peer companies to build effective coalitions, and coordinating with industry trade associations to maximize their impactYou are a strong strategic thinker with polished written and oral advocacy skillsYou are organized, collaborative, and have a bias for actionYou are willing to travel 40-50% of the timeYou’re a self-starter; you’re intrinsically motivated but also a good teammateBonus PointsGovernment and in-house experienceDirect policy experience in employment/labor lawSignificant state-level experience in CaliforniaExperience in the tech industry, particularly the on-demand economyCompensation and BenefitsThe starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on factors including skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized by work location. Ranges may be modified in the future. In addition to base salary, this role includes opportunities for equity grants.
