Relocation Consultant (Part-Time) - Chicago Relocation Consultant (Part-Time) in Chicago. This role is primarily remote (60-70%), with 30-40% in-person client support throughout the city. You will manage your schedule within the company’s flexible work policies to be available for clients when needed. What You’ll Do As a Part-Time Personal Host (Relocation Consultant), you will be a trusted partner to our clients and their employees, guiding them through every stage of the relocation process. You will coordinate moves and handle key logistical details with a white-glove approach to provide high-touch support and help clients feel at home in their new city. Develop strong relationships with relocating employees by understanding their needs, preferences, and concerns throughout the relocation process. Provide expert guidance on the city’s neighborhoods, transportation options, and local culture to help employees make informed decisions. Conduct in-depth housing and school research, including rental market trends, school ratings, commute times, and neighborhood suitability based on client preferences. Assist with essential services such as DMV registration, banking setup, and other logistical requirements to ensure a smooth transition. Curate personalized recommendations for social, cultural, and lifestyle activities (restaurants, networking events, fitness centers, family-friendly venues). Gather and deliver customized information by conducting research and using Relocity’s software and Google Workspace to create tailored client reports. Coordinate and lead area tours, in person or virtual, providing insights into neighborhoods, housing options, and key amenities. Facilitate ongoing communication with relocating employees via phone, email, video calls, or in-person meetings to address questions and provide timely updates. Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the relocation journey, liaising between clients, partners, and vendors to ensure a seamless experience. Manage multiple relocations at various stages, maintaining organization, attention to detail, and proactive follow-ups. Handle administrative responsibilities, including updating client records and documenting key interactions in a timely manner. Qualifications and Experience Must have the legal right to work in the USA. Must have at least 5 years of residency in Chicago, with extensive knowledge of the local rental market, education system, and local registration processes. Must own (not rent) a reliable, registered, and insured 4-door vehicle with a valid driver’s license; role involves driving clients for area tours and rental searches. Ability to dedicate at least 20 hours per week to this role without the demands of full-time employment elsewhere. Must be flexible and available to work weekends. Friendly, outgoing personality with strong customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Prior personal relocation or moving assistance experience is preferred, but not required. Education and Technology Requirements Bachelor or Associate’s degree (or equivalent) preferred. Extensive experience with technology tools such as Microsoft Office, Google G Suite, and CRM systems. Must have a laptop, smartphone, and reliable internet connection. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret contracts, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
