Senior Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client who is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. The person for this role will work closely with our Accounting team to streamline processes, enhance controls, and provide valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $85,000 to $110,000 per year.Job Responsibilities: Prepare and process journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Lead sales and use tax compliance efforts to ensure adherence to tax regulations. Conduct variance analysis, identify trends, and provide insights to support financial decision-making. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. Maintain the fixed asset schedule, calculate depreciation expense, and ensure compliance with asset management policies. Organize and maintain accurate financial records for efficient retrieval and analysis. Assist with treasury functions, including bank statement updates, retail collection reports, and borrowing base certifications. Collaborate with external auditors on financial and bank audits, including inventory valuation assessments. Qualifications/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel) and accounting software. Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations. Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Developed and managed annual budgets and forecasts. Analyzed variances and provided insights to management. Coordinated internal and external audits. Ensured adherence to internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
