Patient Care Technician PCT - Pottstown Hospital

Job Summary All shifts may be available: Full-Time, Part-Time, Day Shift, Evening Shift and Night Shift. * Responsible for providing nursing care to patients under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse. * Perform routine direct patient care activities following established policies and procedures in a manner conducive to the safety and comfort of the patient. * Perform observations of patients and reports changes in patient condition to the registered nurse. * Perform specific skills including phlebotomy and point of care testing (POCT). * Assist in all aspects of daily living activities for the patients, including, but not limited to general hygiene of the patient, changings, light housekeeping, and patient vitals. Available Units: ICU: Pottstown Hospital has more than 40,000 patient visits annually and is the 2nd busiest hospital in Montgomery County. We are the designated stroke hospital with a TPA administration within 45 minutes of arrival. With an 18 Bed ICU we have an average daily census of 8 patients. The Pottstown ICU has prodomonitally all medical cases, but does not have cardiac or trauma. Our ICU has a critical care specialist onsite 24/7 to help with any of your questions. The ICU participates in any rapid response, stem alerts, codes or strokes. Med/Surg, PCU, Telemetry, Ortho Units: We are the designated stroke hospital with a TPA administration within 45 minutes of arrival. With an 30 Bed Med/Surg unit. We have an average daily census of 30 patients. The Pottstown Med/Surg has 2 floors to support our adult to geriatric patients. They see a wide variety of patients from Cardiac Comorbitites,DVT, Sepsis,Pneumonia, and Post Op Care. Experience * Prior direct patient care experience preferred, but not required for employment.
