As a member of the growing Advanced Research Center security team, you will be responsible for overseeing both Classified and Physical Security programs. This role will be responsible for leading guard forces, managing access control systems, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and coordinating emergency management efforts. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the growing Advanced Research Center security team, you will be responsible for overseeing both Classified and Physical Security programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policiesProvide leadership and management of guard forces, including contracted or employee personnelDevelop and implement key control procedures, ensuring the secure management of keys and access devicesPlan and coordinate events, including security logistics and access controlManage badging, visitor systems, and programming of access systems, ensuring seamless and secure access to facilitiesDevelop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for security operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policiesIntegrate security systems with Building Management Systems (BMS), ensuring effective monitoring and response to security incidentsManage radio and emergency communications systems, ensuring effective communication and response to security incidentsServe as Riskonnect Lead, managing risk assessments and mitigation strategiesDevelop and implement emergency management plans, including Incident Command System (ICS) protocols, to ensure effective response to security incidentsManage and coordinate security-related projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocationDevelop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of security projectsCoordinate with cross-functional teams, including facilities, IT, and operations, to ensure effective project executionIdentify and mitigate project risks, ensuring minimal impact to security operations and business continuityProvide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the effective management of security operations, including:Overseeing the development and implementation of security policies and proceduresManaging security incident response and crisis management effortsCoordinating with law enforcement and other agencies to ensure effective security operationsDeveloping and managing security budgets and resource allocation plansConducting security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential threatsImplementing and managing security awareness training programs for employees and contractorsEnsuring compliance with relevant security regulations and standards, including NIST, FISMA, and DFARSRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience or High School Diploma with a minimum of 10 years of experienceExperience in security management, project planning, and team leadershipProven experience and strong knowledge of physical security technologies, access control systems, surveillance solutions, and emergency response protocolsExperience in incident management, crisis response, and business continuity planningProven ability to manage security vendors and ensure operational complianceAbility to work under high-pressure conditions, make critical decisions, and respond to emerging threats in real-timeExcellent leadership, communication, problem-solving skills, and stakeholder management skillsDue to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.Desired CharacteristicsExperience in physical security risk management, corporate security operations, executive protection, and vendor oversight in an industrial settingA background in security management, law enforcement, or military experience in security operations, intelligence, or communicationsCertified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification is preferredExperience working in an industrial or research facility environmentFamiliarity with industrial security protocols and proceduresExperience with project management methodologies, such as Agile or WaterfallExperience with budgeting and cost management, including budget development and trackingPreferred experience in planning large, complex security operations using systems such as the Incident Command System (ICS) or similar operational planning frameworksExperience with developing and executing comprehensive security plans, including contingency planning and risk managementNIMS/ICS qualifications, including:ICS 100: Introduction to the Incident Command SystemICS 200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial ResponseICS 300: Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding IncidentsICS 400: Advanced Incident Command System for Command and General StaffICS 700: National Incident Management System (NIMS) An IntroductionICS 800: National Response Framework (NRF) An IntroductionExperience in large-scale domestic incidents, including natural disasters, terrorist attacks, or other major emergenciesExperience working with federal, state, and local agencies, including emergency management organizations and law enforcement agenciesPreferred experience with the following security systems and software:Lenel OnGuard access control systemManage visitor management systemELogger incident reporting and management systemExperience with integrating multiple security systems and technologies to create a comprehensive security programMilitary experience in security operations, intelligence, or communications, with a strong understanding of security protocols and procedures, is highly valuedExperience with Riskonnect or similar risk management software is a plusProject Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent experience is preferredExperience with project management tools, such as Asana, Trello, or MS Project, is a plusStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutionsThe base pay range for this position is $83,600-$139,200. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus.
