Position Type: Secretarial and Office Personnel/Secretary - 12-Months Date Posted: 9/18/2025 Location: Mason City Schools District:   Mason City School District  Additional Information: Show/Hide Mason City School District Position: Human Resources Administrative Assistant Class III Location: Mason Central Office Qualifications * Three to five years of HR experience with proficiency with Office and Google products * Ability to handle a high volume of paperwork in a fast-paced environment * Ability to meet deadlines * Ability to multi-task * High attention to detail * Must be highly organized and able to prioritize * High degree of customer service skills * Must be a team-player * Ability to demonstrate a record of accountability, acceptance of responsibility, and productivity * Ability to keep employee and student matters strictly confidential * Must be adaptable and flexible * Must be a person who shows initiative * Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills * Usability to edit and proofread a variety of documents and correspondence * Ability to work independently in absence of supervision * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work * Ability to work occasional overtime or other than normal shift to meet work schedule or needs * Positive attitude is a must Performance Responsibilities * Provide background checks for all staff, coaches and independent contractors * Conduct background checks on volunteers and maintain records * Provide support to the LPDC Committee to ensure all certified staff are properly licensed * Ensure that all Educational Aides are properly certified * Update and maintain all employee personnel files * Track and update all staff evaluations * Keep accurate records and employee lists * Provide support for Master Teacher and NBCT Programs * Provide support to the Resident Educator Program * Participate in the Open Enrollment Process * Responsible for collecting and posting Walkthrough Data * Track and communicate Professional Development Hours * Responsible for HR Office pay-ins * Be proficient in PeopleWerks, Strategic Solutions, Formsite, PDExpress, Vector, and Applitrack * Greet HR Department visitors * Perform other duties as assigned Application Process Interested candidates must complete an application in the AppliTrack system.
