This person will be given the opportunities and resources of an international firm, but experience a tight-knit family-oriented environment in their Baltimore office.Job DescriptionThe Senior Mechanical Estimator - Top ENR Firm - Baltimore, MD will be responsible for:Leading the mechanical estimating process for large-scale commercial and institutional projectsPreparing detailed cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and other mechanical systemsReviewing project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to determine scope of workPerforming quantity take-offs, material pricing, and labor analysisDeveloping subcontractor bid packages, soliciting pricing, and evaluating proposalsIdentifying value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternativesCollaborating with preconstruction, project management, and design teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimatesPresenting and defending estimates to internal stakeholders and clientsMaintaining current knowledge of market conditions, labor rates, and material costsMentoring and providing guidance to junior estimators within the departmentMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
