Century Group is partnering with a rapidly growing real estate development company in the Los Angeles area, seeking a VP of Finance & Accounting. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location . Expected starting base salary $175,000 to $225,000 per year. JOB DESCRIPTION: Oversee all financial accounting, debt reporting & compliance, treasury, financial planning & analysis, tax planning and filing Collaborate with the firm's investments team and be involved with the operations of the business, specifically related to project underwriting budget/forecast analysis. Manage the relationship with the company's third-party firm that provides all bookkeeping and tax services JOB DUTIES: Ensure financial statements are prepared in a manner consistent with debt and equity capital partner requirements (i.e., GAAP basis or modified tax basis Monitor project-level cashflows and for stabilized assets Manage monthly distribution process and track capita Collaborate with the construction management team to update development project workbooks with financial data monthly (or as needed) Ensure all debt covenants are adequately tracked and reported to lenders timely Assist with lender management, including communication with new and existing lenders related new loan origination/underwriting, loan extensions, and refinancing Track outstanding loans to ensure lender principal balance and interest calculations are prepared appropriately and consistent with policy documents Collaborate with the Construction Management team to prepare and submit development loan draws during development SKILLS: Working knowledge of real estate valuation frameworks (discounted cash flow, cap rates, etc.) and financial concepts (IRR, multiple of invested capital, cash yield, etc.) Working knowledge of common real estate construction financing and term debt financial covenants (loan-to-cost, loan-to-value, debt yields, debt-service coverage ratio, etc.) Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; strong presentation skills Initiative-taker with energy and commitment to work within a dynamic, collaborative, and entrepreneurial environment Strong MS skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Strong ERP systems experience Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively across stakeholder groups QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required CPA strongly preferred 10+ years professional experience with prior controller/CFO level experience required Experience with QuickBooks, Yardi, and Juniper Square a plus Experience with commercial real estate and real estate development accounting and reporting (experience with industrial and/or self-storage a plus) Working knowledge of real estate valuation frameworks (discounted cash flow, cap rates, etc.) and financial concepts (IRR, multiple of invested capital, cash yield, etc.) Working knowledge of common real estate construction financing and term debt financial covenants (loan-to-cost, loan-to-value, debt yields, debt-service coverage ratio, etc.) REF 45078 #LI-POST
