As a veteran Material Handler, we need someone that is ready to operate all equipment utilized in the distribution center such as the Reach Truck, Cherry Picker, Sit-Down Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack. Pay Rate: $25.69 Primary Objective * Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area. Major Function and Scope * Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area. * Operates order picker equipment or stand-up forklift to assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets. * Utilizes warehouse systems such as Warehouse Management System (WMS). * Verifies stock availability and audits orders for accuracy. * Conveys picked orders to packing station or shipping area. * Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor. * Follows standard operating and safety procedures. * Keeps area safe, clean and organized. * Performs other related duties as required. Experience and Knowledge Required * High School diploma or equivalent experience; Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator. * 3 or more years previous distribution/warehouse experience. * Must have a minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift order picker equipment experience. Competencies: * Good oral and written communications skills. * Good record keeping skills. * Good listening skills. * Accurate measurement capability. * Ability to understand and speak basic English. * Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner. * Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks. Other Pertinent Job Information: * While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. * The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. * The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. * The associate may lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. * The aver number of picks per hour is 25 and the average weight is between 40-70 lbs with heavier picks (50-70 lbs) being 65% of the work shift and lighter weight items (20-40 lbs) being 35% of the work shift. * Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. * While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. * The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. * The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. * The noise level is usually loud. * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
