Manhatta is a restaurant and full-service event space from Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group, combining sky-high views with down-to-earth hospitality.Who you are: As an Event Expeditor, you are the tour guide for our guests' adventure for their event. We are looking for dedicated team members who are invested in guiding our guests through an incredible and memorable experience. Professionals in this role will need to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food, beverage, our menu, our ingredients, and excellent service. Successful candidates require great teamwork skills, a pleasant friendly attitude, and a strong passion for hospitality and growth. What you'll do: Consistently support a culture of Enlightened HospitalityExude warmth and friendliness, a passion for food and service, and a strong desire to pursue more knowledge and growth. Ability to understand guests' needs and coordinate with teammates Ability to visually identify items and ingredients Run food from the kitchen to the event space on demand Assist with food and table prep before the event begins Liaise with Chef and FOH to ensure proper materials are in place for each event Hold the team accountable for proper documentation for order sheets, dietary guides, and count sheets Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including bottled wine Clean up venue after event ends and assist with inventory, food storage and other closeout task Perform job functions with precision, speed, and accuracy Prioritize the minute details of service appropriately, ensure courses are out in a timely manner and adapt to constantly changing priorities Maintain composure and remain calm under pressure, resolve problems using good judgment Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment including complete knowledge of menu allergens What we need from you: 1-2 years of similar experience in a similar environmentA good understanding of event service, food, wine, beer, and cocktailsCurrent Food Handlers Certificate Availability on demand Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time Ability to balance & carry multiple plates, glass racks and or/glasses, and lift objects up to 30 lbs.
