Central Sterile Processing Technician Job Summary: Responsible for cleaning and sterilizing all items pertinent to the operations of the center. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Include the following.Other duties may be assigned: * Coordinates and implements AMI standards and any other resources (IFU's, SDSs, policies) for the sterilization of instruments and supplies. * Can work independently and uses time wisely. * Demonstrates good body mechanics * Speaks up to address practice issues. * Coordinates the availability of instruments/supplies for cases as needed. * Assures the adequate functioning and cleaning of all autoclaves and other sterilization/cleaning equipment. * Maintains adequate supplies without waste that are needed for sterilization process. * Maintains complete and accurate documentation. * Facilitates turnover times to promote operating room efficiency. * Uses Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment. * Assists with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance, and participates in emergency preparedness drills. * Follows all equipment and safety guidelines, and is personally responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment. * Interacts appropriately and effectively with all patients/others regardless of age or ethnic background. * Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team. * Attends in-service training, required education, conferences, and meetings to learn new skills as required. * Communicates effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, and their office staffs, patients, and employees. Maintains patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy. * Maintains designated certifications such as CPR, as offered by the center. * Acts in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center. * Complies with Policies and Procedures, and adheres to safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment. Required Skills: Qualification requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual shall be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Sterile Process Certification Program is preferred.One to two years' experience as an Central Sterile Processing Technician in multiple specialties or equivalent combination of education and experience. #LI-LL1
