Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in The Woodlands, Texas. This contract-to-permanent position is ideal for someone with a strong background in full cycle Accounts Payable, preferably within the oil and gas industry. The role requires managing high-volume transactions, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with internal teams to optimize workflows. Responsibilities: - Process a large volume of invoices efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timely payment to vendors. - Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to received-but-not-invoiced issues to maintain smooth operations. - Conduct thorough vendor research and ensure compliance with 1099 reporting requirements. - Collaborate closely with procurement and supply chain teams to reconcile purchase orders and streamline workflows. - Support month-end closing activities by reconciling accounts payable data and preparing necessary reports. - Maintain detailed and accurate records of transactions while adhering to company policies and procedures. - Utilize Oracle Fusion for accounts payable and procure-to-pay processes to enhance efficiency. - Monitor compliance with corporate procurement standards and regulatory requirements. - Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance operational performance. Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the oil and gas sector. - Strong knowledge of procure-to-pay processes, purchase orders, and supply chain workflows. - Proficiency in Oracle or similar ERP. - Familiarity with 1099 reporting and compliance requirements. - Proven ability to manage high-volume transactions in a shared services environment. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. - Experience with ACH payments and account reconciliation.
