Accounts Payable Manager Location: Swedesboro NJ Job Type: ONSITE (not remote) Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000k/year The Accounts Payable Manager is the first point of contact on issues and provides support to the Accounts Payable Representatives by motivating, coaching, inspiring, training and advising them on best practices in order to resolve issues. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Managing AP. This includes vendor relations and the AP disbursement group which collectively handle all payment disbursements and 1099 matters. - Managing accounting functions related to accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness thereof. - Developing, implementing and maintaining systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines. - Managing monthly closing of AP related financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of financial statements. - Proving coaching, training, and leadership to the team of AP representatives. - Collaborate with Category management to maintain current vendor master. - Ensuring timely payment of vendor invoices to ensure uninterrupted flow of product. - Optimizing payment methods to achieve defined metrics including: DPO, EDI and ETF adoption, past due targets, and success of automated "3 way" match. - Optimizing DPO through use of credit card, electronic payments, and manual checks. - Driving automation through EDI adoption for AP. - Providing ongoing improvement in AP processes and controls. - Managing vendor relationships, including verbal and written communication as required. - Serving as the administrator for vendor tools including: Citizens, Achieve Access, Concur, AMEX and the Citizens "P Card" programs. - Performing other duties as assigned or required. REQUIREMENTS: - MUST HAVE Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or related field. - MUST HAVE 7+ years of Accounting experience in Payables. - MUST have at least 1 year of experience managing a team (process improvement and development). - Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software. - Must have large ERP AP system experience, as well as 1099 filing experience. - Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills. - Strong interpersonal skills for interacting accountants, clients, and upper management. - Good communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management. - Strong analytical and problem solving skills. - Good presentation skills for educating internal clients on accounting principles. - Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work. - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required. - Highly organized and exceptional data entry skills required. - Ability to sufficiently train others on Accounts Payable "3 way match" process required. - Must be able to work in a high pace environment and process a large number of invoices. - Must be able to utilize critical thinking skills in order to effectively resolve issues.
