Academic Tutor (San Fernando Valley Only) San Fernando Valley, CA | Part-Time (20–25 hrs/week) About Us Dynasty’s United Youth Association (DUYA) is committed to empowering students through academic support, mentorship, and skill-building. We are seeking passionate and dedicated Academic Tutors to join our team and make a lasting impact in the San Fernando Valley community. Requirements Must be 21 years or older Graduate, undergraduate, or previous graduate student Ability to work 20-25 hours per week in person Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance (required for travel between sites-- one site per day) Bilingual preferred but not required Duties & Responsibilities Provide learning support in English/Math for students 1-3 years behind grade level Facilitate small group tutoring sessions in person at DUYA's partnering school sites in the San Fernando Valley (one elementary (K-4) and middle school (5-8)) Provide students with feedback and motivation using positive reinforcement techniques Create lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with student needs and learning goals Recommend learning resources (textbooks, software, tools) to enhance student success Participate in weekly team meetings, professional development, and staff training sessions Collaborate with staff and the organization to track and increase student performance Maintain progress reports and administer pre- and post-assessments Qualifications 6–12 months of tutoring or academic support experience in a classroom or learning setting Strong communication and cultural competence skills Comfortable working independently and within groups Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and online research tools Friendly, outgoing, and proactive character Ability to use initiative while also knowing when to seek support ✨ If you’re passionate about education and want to make a difference in the lives of students in the San Fernando Valley, we’d love to hear from you!
