Medical Assistant

About the Role: Seeking a detail-oriented Medical Assistant. This position requires experience in assisting nurses, providers and other staff with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasking. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of high-volume patient care, Epic, and assisting with procedures. Type: Full Time Location: On-site in Kalamazoo, MI Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm or 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Pay: $17 - $25/hr Qualifications: Experience: 6 - 12 months of experience Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant program completion and certified or registered as an MA preferred, but not required. Must have or be able to obtain BLS certification. Technical Skills: Experience with the Epic EMR system is a strong preference. Knowledge: A strong understanding of patient care, assisting with procedures, and managing a work queue. Key Responsibilities: Preparing patients for their visit and ensuring patient comfort. Maintaining patient areas and coordinating schedules in assigned areas. Rooming patients and assisting with procedures (e.g., pelvic exams). Specimen collection and preparation of tools for sterilization. Administrative tasks such as managing a work queue and temperature logs. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently.
