Apply now and become a part of our exciting journey!Job Summary: The Railroad Track Specialist will inspect railroad tracks to ensure compliance with applicable railroad standards, state regulations, and the FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart G. They will produce reports for all tracks inspected, noting all non-compliant conditions found and providing suggested corrective/remedial actions. This position communicates regularly with their direct supervisor and completes weekly/daily reports as required. The Railroad Track Specialist plays an integral role in developing and maintaining the RailPros client relationship.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Inspect railroad track structure (primarily on foot) for compliance with railroad standards, state regulations, & FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart GDetect deviations from federal (FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart G)/state regulations and identify areas requiring repair or maintenanceImplement remedial action on defects, pending repairComply with all railroad/client safety rules, FRA guidelines, and RailPros' policies and proceduresProvide clear written and verbal communication of track conditionsProduce accurate and detailed reports for all tracks inspectedParticipate in derailment investigations if requiredBuild and maintain effective customer relationshipsOther duties as assigned or required to meet the needs of the businessQualificationsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Proven ability to work with minimal supervisionAbility to travel to various locations in the region for extensive periods of timeProficient in Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), Adobe PDF SuiteExemplary verbal and written communication skillsExcellent problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamComfort with sharing knowledge of track standards with clients, FRA, railroad employees, and other RailPros employeesRequired Education and Experience:Minimum 5 years' experience as a railroad track inspector, MOW Foreman, or MOW SupervisorProficiency in digital technology with the ability to use a tablet and/or laptop computerCompetent in using a tape measure, level board, stringline, taper/step gauge, and straightedgeHigh School Diploma requiredPreferred Education and Experience:Experience in monitoring multiple work sites and allocating time efficientlyAbility to lead safety meetings and job site safety briefingsAbility to interpret construction plans and specificationsExperience in coordinating project tasks with parties of conflicting interestsAdditional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:Ability to pass "eRailSafe" background check and railroad safety and security trainingValid driver's license requiredAbility to demonstrate knowledge of FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart G and be qualified by RailPros managerWhy Work at RailPros?
