Previous experience with cycle counting and sit-down forklift experience is required. Job Title: Material Handler Pay rate: $17.00/hr. Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM to 4:40 PM ) + OT as needed RESPONSIBILITIES: * Operate forklift to move material from multi-level pallet racks to production areas * Read production schedule and work orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed * Load, unload, and stage products and materials * Perform Quality Control Checks on certain raw materials prior to staging in the production area * Load and unload product to and from delivery vehicles and designated storage areas * Prepare outgoing shipments by using protective material such as pallet stretch-wrapping, pallet banding, edge protectors, and other protective material * Assist in the disposal of waste material created by the production process * Stacks skids or pallets in designated areas * Operate Core Cutting, Core Notching, and Rewinding Machines * Manually re-work Product to meet on-time delivery targets * Responsible for Inventory Control and Cycle Count of critical safety stock items * Keep Production warehouse area clean and tidy * Organize raw materials within the warehouse storage areas in a way that benefits the production teams * Perform all other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: * Minimum 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment * Ability to operate stand-up and sit-down forklift * Ability to repeatedly lift 20-30 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds * Push utility carts up to 60 pounds * Must be able to stand for long periods of time, as well as walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts * Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around * High School Diploma or GED preferred * Must have a good command of the English language * Must possess positive interpersonal skills to perform effectively in a team environment * Must possess ability to work at a rapid pace. * Ability to understand, follow, and apply operational and technical instruction, written and verbal * Ability to solve basic math (addition/subtraction/multiplication/division) * All candidates are required to undergo a pre-employment drug screen and background check as a condition of employment.
