Today, Daybreak operates the Miami Valley's only 24-hour crisis hotline and emergency youth shelter and has grown to include outreach, prevention, transitional housing, life-skills education, and other follow-up services for runaway, throwaway, and homeless youth.As the Chief Financial Officer, you willDirect the organization's financial planning and accounting practices to ensure full financial accountability to the Daybreak Board of Trustees and ensure the agency is in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IRS, and other regulatory tax and government grant reporting requirements. The CFO will be responsible for designing, developing, and administering agency accounting procedures and practices. The CFO will prepare Daybreak's annual budget and quarterly fiscal reports for the Board of Trustees and Financial Audit Committee. They will monitor financial performance and results to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines. This role includes responsibility for Daybreak's overall risk management policies and plans as well as overseeing monthly grant billings and summary budget preparation to monitor grant performance. The CFO serves as the Corporate Compliance Officer and serves on the Daybreak Executive Management Team, Strategic Planning Team, and Financial Audit Committee.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree (required) in Accounting or FinanceTen (10) years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance, managing multiple funding sourcesThree (3) years supervisory experience requiredNonprofit accounting and government grant experience preferredExperience with Ohio Medicaid and Managed Care payer plans preferredBackground Checks and Pre-employment TestingDaybreak is required by State of Ohio law to perform a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, of eligible applicants. In addition, Daybreak requires the following background checks.Federal Exclusion databases including National Sex Offender Registry, Office of Inspector General (OIG), Nurse Aide Registry, SAM, and Developmental Disabilities (DODD)Motor Vehicle ReportPre-employment tests will be conducted at Daybreak's expense. Tests include:A tuberculin skin test or chest X-ray (by a physician of Daybreak's choosing)A urine drug screening (by a testing facility of Daybreak's choosing)Should the background or pre-employment checks indicate disqualifying information, Daybreak reserves the right to withdraw the conditional offer of employment or postpone employment until the condition is resolved.
