From high-rises and data centers to schools and hospitals, you’ll assist in designing sprinklers, clean agent suppression, fire pumps, standpipes, and integrated fire alarm systems. Using hydraulic and fire modeling software with BIM, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to deliver innovative, code-compliant solutions — with mentorship, training, and growth opportunities from day one.ResponsibilitiesDesign and analyze fire alarm, suppression, and smoke control systems per code and IMEG standardsInteract with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical informationBuild and maintain client relationshipsSupport project planning, scheduling, and executionDocument design decisions and monitor progressAnalyze engineering tasks and propose solutions with senior supportParticipate in IMEG quality control processesStay current with fire protection trends and contribute to R&DPrioritize safety and identify risks in fire protection systemsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutionsRequired Qualifications and SkillsBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalentPrior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferredEngineering in Training (EIT) License preferredNICET Level I or II certification in Fire Alarm Systems or Water-Based Systems Layout preferredKnowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specificationsStrong technical and analytical skills including knowledge in thermodynamics, fire dynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics as it relates to fire protection systems design in fire alarm, fire suppression, and smoke control systems for buildingsKnowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools including hydraulic simulation and related softwareExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsEagerness to learn and adapt to new challengesBasic knowledge in the use of BIM softwareAbility to clearly communicate in both oral and written formProficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight staysThis position is not eligible for sponsorship.Why Join UsAt IMEG, people are our priority — with a solid focus on career growth, work-life balance, and making a meaningful impact.
