Applied Machine Learning Engineer (Contract, 6 Months)

Overview Quix Recruitment is partnering with a cutting-edge fintech firm to hire an Applied Machine Learning Engineer to develop and deploy machine learning models that optimize trading strategies and risk management solutions. This role bridges research and engineering, requiring expertise in ML implementation, algorithm optimization, and production-ready system deployment. The successful candidate will work closely with quantitative researchers and team members to translate models into robust solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models for financial datasets. Optimize and maintain feature engineering pipelines and model inference systems. Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate ML solutions into production environments. Experiment with methods including reinforcement learning, deep learning, and time-series analysis. Document models and provide clear reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Support team growth by mentoring junior members and sharing best practices. Experience & Skills Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. 3+ years of hands-on experience applying ML models in a production environment. Strong Python skills and experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn. Experience with cloud deployment (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with data processing frameworks like Spark or Hadoop. Competencies Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects independently. Collaborative and detail-oriented approach to code and model validation.
