OverviewCorcept is leading the research and development of cortisol modulators that regulate cortisol activity at the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). With more than 1,000 selective proprietary cortisol modulators discovered to date and FDA approval of Korlym (mifepristone) for hypercortisolism, Corcept continues to explore cortisol modulation across a wide range of disease areas, including endocrinology, oncology, metabolism, and neurology.Today, our team and collaborators are pursuing discoveries that aim to shift how we understand and treat disease, supported by more than 30 ongoing studies across diverse therapeutic areas.PositionThe Director of Tax oversees the Company’s tax accounting activities in accordance with GAAP, including month-end close, financial reporting, international tax planning, and filing of tax returns.ResponsibilitiesMaintain tax and regulatory compliance across local, state, federal, and international jurisdictions, including income, sales and use, property, and VAT taxesReview quarterly income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 and maintain uncertain tax positions under FIN 48Review federal and state R&D tax credit calculationsPerform monthly tax close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliationsSupport internal and external audits, including Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance related to taxLead federal, state, and international tax planning initiativesDevelop transfer pricing policies and documentation, including intercompany agreements, to ensure compliance with global and local tax regulationsEnsure timely filing of all tax and regulatory returns (e.g., quarterly estimates, annual extensions, and income tax returns)Manage VAT compliance, including refunds, reconciliations, and registrations in new jurisdictions as neededFile property tax returnsFile annual reports with Secretary of State officesMonitor and analyze changes in domestic and international tax laws and regulations, assessing the impact on the Company and recommending proactive responsesCollaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to support business planning and decision-making from a tax perspectivePreferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical ProficienciesDemonstrated experience with U.S. GAAP tax provision and SOXDetailed knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements related to income taxes and related disclosuresDetailed knowledge of income tax return filing requirements in a multistate reporting environmentInternational tax and transfer pricing experienceAbility to prioritize work and meet deadlinesAbility to work efficiently with minimal supervision and in a team environmentStrong leadership and collaboration skillsExcellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsProficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)Preferred Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s in Taxation is a plusCPA10+ years of progressive experience in taxExperience in biotech/pharmaceutical environment is preferredThe pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this headquarters-based position is $232,800 - $273,800; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.Corcept is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
