Highland Technology is looking for a Senior Electronics Design Engineer with a strong background in electronic embedded systems, interested in working with projects that are mentally challenging and advancing into a technical leadership position in a small and collaborative environment. You will be expected to architect and guide the development of high-performance scientific and aerospace instrumentation electronics. In addition to developing and supporting complex electronic products, you will work with Engineering Leadership to help oversee the department and progressively assume senior technical supervisory roles.The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in electronics design, as well as experience in managing engineering personnel, generating new product concepts, overseeing projects, supporting and developing budgets and schedules, liaising with other departments, and working with suppliers and customers.ResponsibilitiesDesign digital and analog circuitsBrainstorm and define architecturesParticipate in and supervise projects that involve microprocessor and FPGA code developmentOversee and mentor Junior Engineers and TechniciansWrite thorough product and design documentationDraft and oversee standard operating proceduresParticipate in design reviews and provide input to identify potential issues and drive design choicesPropose innovative solutions to enhance product performance and features and assist with business developmentCreate and design production test plans and programsRequirementsB.S in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and a sound understanding of engineering principles7+ years of work experienceProven knowledge of analog circuit design and analysis, with specific experience in power supply and instrumentation systemsExperience with digital circuit design and analysisExperience with schematic and board design using PADS or equivalentStrong interpersonal and communications skill and proficient use of the English languagePreferredKnowledge of digital signal processing and control theory: classical, linear, and non-linearExperience with FPGAs, preferably using VHDL and OSVVMExperience with microcontrollers and C/C++Experience with embedded Linux and some RTOS (FreeRTOS preferred)Experience with analog/mixed-signal design and data acquisition systemsExperience with PythonExperience with leading or supervising teams and mentoring Junior EngineersThis offer is for full-time, non-remote, salaried employment.Salary is estimated between $120,000 to $180,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
