OverviewThe goal of the Digital Partnership Solution Engineering team is to partner with key stakeholders in digital space, including device manufacturers, operating system providers, wallet service providers, AI firms, agentic providers, startups, large issuers, digital wallets, merchants, acquirers, and payment service providers to execute Mastercard’s digital strategy, while identifying new business development and revenue generating opportunities.We aim to achieve this goal of defining new payment experiences through direct engagement with these partners, and by packaging solutions that leverage Mastercard’s assets, like Digital, Loyalty, Advisors, Security, Acceptance, and Processing solutions.This is a unique opportunity to join a highly motivated growing team, help build unique relevant solutions and shape the evolution of the payments industry, to create a world beyond plastic, with valued experiences for consumers and end users, while also enabling merchants to reach new consumers in ways not possible in the pre-digital world.We are looking for Engineers to join our Solutions Engineering Team, who can help build compelling and scalable Agentic Commerce solutions with Mastercard’s flagship agentic commerce product, Mastercard Agent Pay. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and excited by the challenge of balancing the needs of many diverse stakeholders.RoleThe Director, Product Architect, Agentic Commerce will be focused on defining Mastercard/'s strategy to enable access to digital credentials wherever consumers engage with the world using agentic AI. This individual will drive components of Mastercard’s agentic commerce product suite from concept to market launch and scale across global markets by working with Digital Partners.Define the Solution Strategy: Partner with Mastercard’s flagship agentic commerce product business owners to define and evolve the solution strategy as the product moves from concept to market.Lead Technical Engagements: Own the end-to-end technical relationship with global digital partners, from early-stage ideation through to scaled deployment of agentic commerce solutions.Solution Design & Architecture: Translate complex partner requirements into robust, scalable, and secure solution architectures leveraging Mastercard’s agentic commerce product suite and technology platforms.Partner Collaboration: Work closely with AI agents, digital wallets, and commerce platforms to co-create solutions that integrate Mastercard’s digital credentials and payment capabilities into new agentic interfaces and consumer experiences.Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Regional teams to ensure alignment on technical strategy, delivery timelines, and go-to-market execution.Prototype & Innovate: Partner with Mastercard’s prototyping and innovation teams to rapidly test and validate new agentic commerce use cases and mercial & Strategic Input: Support the development of commercial models, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans by providing technical feasibility assessments and partner feedback.Global Coordination: Act as the central technical point of contact for regional digital teams, ensuring consistency in solution design and partner onboarding across markets.IP & Compliance: Identify opportunities for intellectual property creation and ensure all solutions comply with Mastercard’s data, security, and business model standards.All About YouHigh level of fluency in AI, including deep technology foundations and thorough industry awareness of payments.Awareness and understanding of Mastercard/'s key customers, partners, and external stakeholders in these areas, including Issuers, Payment Service Providers, Acquirers, Digital Wallet Operators, and Merchants.Strong experience and knowledge of the business drivers and technology of consumer payments, especially digital wallets, tokenization, and authentication, across global regions and markets.Experience working with AI/ML platforms, agentic systems, or conversational interfaces is a strong plus.Possess a blend of analytical capability, strategic thinking, and emotional intelligence and able to dive deep on all areas of the business to deliver creative solutions to unstructured fortable communicating strategy, project status, and complex ideas to executive leadership.Experience working in a global, matrixed organization and managing cross-regional initiatives.Willing to hear new ideas and objectively consider challengers in the interest of achieving the best possible customer outcomes.Bachelor/'s degree required.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Updated 6 August 2025As a technical leader in the Acceptance Innovation & Solution Engineering organization, you will collaborate closely with product owners, technology teams, partners, and clients to define solution architectures, lead proof-of-concepts, and translate product vision into technical execution.
